*A basic rodent treatment can also be added to our general pest treatment*

Rodents
Rodent problems (rats and mice) can be difficult to control. Success comes from understanding which rodent is causing the problem, applying the appropriate rodent treatment and correcting the conditions that allowed the rodents to enter the building, so that re-infestation does not occur. Derwent Pest Control provide safe rodent control programs to eliminate your rodent problem. These plans can be implemented to both residential and commercial environments

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Do you offer a warranty?Yes, all general pest treatments have a 6-month free service period for all interior treated areas. Our products and methods are designed to get the best out of our treatment. After the 2-4-week post activity period, if there is any remaining pest activity internally, we will attend free of charge and conduct a spot treatment to problem areas.
-
What should I do to prepare before my treatment?Mopping/vacuuming Take all clothes off the line Clear light objects away from all skirtings and internal/external walls around house Remove pet food/water bowls Remove pet faeces from grassed areas
-
How toxic are the chemicals used? The products we use here at Derwent Pest Control are recognised as the safest on the market. While they are still chemicals and should be handled accordingly, our commitment to safety and efficacy means you can trust us to maintain a clean and secure environment for your family.
-
Do I need to leave during the treatment? It is strongly recommended, however if you prefer to stay home while we are there, we also understand this. We just ask that you are out of the room while we are treating. The easiest way is for you to stay inside while we treat the outside and then move yourself outside when we do the inside. We do however insist that if there are young children at home that they vacate for a few hours.
-
What areas do you treat?A normal general pest treatment is an internal/external treatment including the roof space and sub floor, but we essentially target our treatment to areas which will maximise the products exposure to the pest but are also safe to do so. These areas typically include skirtings, cornices, beneath and behind fridges and dishwashers, edges of the building, edges of footpaths, subfloors, garden edges, fence railings, around windows and behind downpipes, beneath carports and pergolas just to name the main areas. We will discuss with you on the day in more detail and address any questions or concerns you may have.
-
How long does it take for the treatment to work? There will be a considerable ‘knock down’ effect that will be noticeable as soon as our treatment is complete but to gain full control may take a little longer. We ask you to allow 2-4 weeks before all activity has stopped as some pests take longer than others to expose themselves to our treatment.
-
What should I do post treatment? After we complete the treatment, we recommend No mopping around baseboards for 7 days Do not use high-pressure hose to clean the external walls, paved areas or decking. Cob web brush only to remove webs. Avoid cleaning away cobwebs for 7 days post treatment.
